Emissions Technician Permanent – based on site in Bedford Salary up to £40,000 (depending on experience) & generous benefits & shift allowance 2 Shift – Shift 1: 6am-2pm & Shift 2: 2pm-10pm Job responsibilities & duties of the Emissions Technician Conduct chassis dynamometer emissions tests on combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles Perform pre-test vehicle inspections to ensure they meet test requirements Set up test equipment, including instrumentation and data acquisition systems Monitor test procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data collection Analyse emissions test results using specialized software tools Identify any issues or anomalies during testing and troubleshoot accordingly Maintain accurate records of all tests performed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative testing methodologies Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations related to vehicle emissions testing Skills and Experience required of the Emissions Technician GSCE grades or equivalent Mechanical/PC qualification Engineering apprenticeship related to motor vehicles (preferred) Prior experience as a Chassis Dynamometer Vehicle Emissions Test Technician or similar role is highly desirable but not necessary Knowledge of combustion, hybrid and electric vehicle technology Familiarity with chassis dynamometer systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition tools A keen eye for detail and good analytical skills to interpret test results accurately Excellent problem-solving abilities to address any technical issues during testing A passion for environmental sustainability and reducing vehicle emissions An enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic testing environment Customer focused with a high level of confidentiality and integrity To apply, please submit a copy of your up to date CV clearly indicating your relevant experience.
