Electrical/electronic Technician - Test Equipment

Salary: £38.5k - £45k Overtime: Available Working Hours: 39.5 Hours TXM is currently seeking an Electrical/Electronic Technician to join a fantastic team based in Wolverhampton. This pivotal role involves collaborating closely with the Test Equipment Sustainment Site Manager and Engineers to carry out sustainment activities on existing test systems, which encompass a diverse array of components including electronic, electrical, software, mechanical, and power distribution. We're looking for a proactive team player who excels in a challenging engineering and production environment, adept at solving testing and test equipment issues. The successful candidate will manage work packages related to the maintenance, upgrade, and sustainment of these Test Equipment Systems, ensuring effective coordination with the Test Systems teams. Key Expertise Perform sustainment activities to complete planned and non-routine maintenance for all Test Equipment within the company, repairing down to component level, often with limited drawing cover. To maintain the configuration of test equipment deployed for operational use at their facility. Maintain or create documentation during fault finding, maintenance or upgrade activities. Timely investigation and resolution of issues creating a stop on production, a quality escape and / or reduced first pass yield. Support Root Cause investigations into all aspects of the Test Equipment System and/ or components as required. The incumbent is expected to work inconvenient hours, on occasion, as part of breakdown support within the Test Equipment department. Shift work may be required to support the business need. Support to out of hours call out may also be requested.  Key Skills and Experience: A minimum of a relevant Level 3 qualification (E.g. BTEC Level 3, PEO Level 3, NVQ Level 3) in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering. Qualifications in one of the following: BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition, Machine Shop Practice, Hand Soldering, and Panel wiring would be advantageous.  Minimum of 3 years’ experience of the build or maintenance of electromechanical Test Equipment and supporting infrastructure. Experienced in at least two of the following key skill areas: Electronics, Electrical, Hydraulics, Mechanical, or Pneumatics, and possess at least a basic understanding of the remaining domains.
