Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer   Outskirts of Bedford Up to £60,000 - (Senior or Principal dependent on experience) Full time, 38 hours per week Fixed Term, 12 Months Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (E, C & I) Engineer to join their dynamic Systems Engineering Team. This position is critical in leading the engineering efforts for test facilities and supporting systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the introduction of new E, C & I systems, maintaining existing plant machinery, and developing design solutions for facility enhancements. The role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring operational excellence and system integrity. Please note: Due to the nature of the role, applicants are required to have been residing in the UK for at least 5 years. Key Responsibilities: System Innovation and Maintenance: Introduce and maintain robust E, C & I systems, ensuring reliable operation and service maintainability. Project Development and Implementation: Develop and implement design solutions through controlled processes, from requirements capture to technical acceptance. Documentation and Compliance: Ensure the creation and approval of technical documentation for system delivery, commissioning, and operation. Cross-disciplinary Utilisation: Apply expertise across adjacent areas, such as mechanical engineering, as needed. Project Leadership: Take engineering ownership of projects, including plant refurbishment and process improvement. Safety and Compliance: Uphold a high level of safety consciousness, particularly with high-energy systems, and actively participate in site safety initiatives. Qualifications and Skills Required: Educational Background: Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Experience: 5–10 years of industrial experience in a similar role. Technical Proficiency: Strong numeracy and analytical skills, understanding of industrial machinery, and experience with design control procedures. Technical Skills: Knowledge of designing analogue and digital circuits, signal processing, and using circuit design software (e.g., SPICE, LabVIEW, PLC programming, Matlab). Problem-Solving Abilities: Creative, persistent, and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a positive and proactive attitude.
