OVERALL OBJECTIVE: 1.To be responsible for the design and detail of engineering components and complete systems, using the Companies 3D CAD system, to defined standards. 2.To undertake specific engineering tasks as determined by the functional area (for example Gear Design) RESPONSIBILITIES: To undertake CAD modelling and drafting on NX 3D CAD to Company standards and procedures. To ensure verification is undertaken, documented and recorded. To create Engineering Drawings and issue to the required standard. Establish, maintain and manage a strong working relationship with new and existing customers, at all levels. Work as part of the core Engineering team - utilising the skills and experiences of Gear Technology, Production Engineering and key shop floor personnel. To liaise with and provide guidance to, the Commercial Function and Manufacture Project Managers Maintain suitable issue control and Bill of Materials for the parts and projects and in a timely fashion. To advise corrective action to shop floor queries and non-conformance. To undertake personnel development To observe Health and Safety rules at all times To follow Company quality Procedures, Standards and Work Instructions To carry out reasonable duties as requested by Management PERSON SPECIFICATION E=Essential D=Desirable O=Optional Education, Qualifications and Training Minimum of BEng or BSc, ideally in an engineering or aeronautical discipline. - E Knowledge The basics of transmission functionality - E Manufacturing process awareness - E Awareness of Inspection and Measurement techniques - D Experience Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (E) (i.e. Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport, Aero Engineering) Minimum 1 years post graduate experience (E) within an Automotive or Motorsport design environment (D). Design experience of rotating or recprocating metallic components; shafts (E), bearings (E), gears (D), gearboxes (D), combustion engines (O), E-motors (O) Working knowledge of metallic manufacturing techniques; turning (E), milling (E), grinding (E), casting (D), hobbing (D), shaping (D), heat treatment (D) Competent CAD user (E), including 2D & 3D modelling (E) preferably on Siemens NX & TeamCenter (D) Ability to read & interpret 2D manufacturing & assembly drawings (E) Skills/Abilities Excellent IT skills and a knowledge of Word, Excel and appreciation of databases Must be a strong communicator across a multi skilled organisation.
