A vacancy has become available for a Depot Manager / Engineering Manager at a busy London bus garage paying a basic salary of £72,500 per annum + benefits. Duties & Responsibilities: - Planning and managing the vehicle maintenance and repair function to obtain maximum utilisation of the resources available. - Responsibility for the leadership, motivation, performance management, learning development and discipline of the local Engineering team. - Ensuring all Engineering staff commit and comply with Health & Safety. - Ensuring all vehicles provided for operation comply with the standards set - Working within allocated budget to guarantee that stores hold adequate material supplies in line with the workshop requirements, as well as pro-actively reviewing and implementing risk assessments and systems of safe practice as required. - Demonstrable previous experience in a senior, supervisory or engineering management remit is essential – Preferably within transport with a knowledge of PSV vehicles - In addition to meticulous time management and planning, with the ability to make rational decisions under pressure. The successful candidate will ideally come from the PSV / PCV / HGV sector and have previous experience in a Senior Management capacity. You will hold an industry recognised qualification and ideally have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role. You should have a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures for HGV / PSV / PCV / Bus / Coach.
