CSE Engineering Works Manager Location: Newcastle Job Purpose: Jackson Hogg is recruiting on behalf of a market leading client within the Rail industry. They are looking for a CSE Works Manager that has management experience alongside Capex reporting, Planning, Health & Safety, compliance, and documentation. Our client would also be interested in relevant candidates from other industries as well as rail due to the nature of the role. Primary Responsibilities: * Support the Head of Infrastructure Works Delivery in ensuring that knowledge retention and succession plans are in place for all business-critical aspects of the Communications, Signalling and Electrical Infrastructure Works Delivery Team. * Lead in undertaking reviews/audits/inspections and any other similar activities aimed at evaluating both compliance levels and value of projects against all relevant standards and contractual requirements. * Assist in the development of maintenance and deployment of a set of process controls aimed at ensuring the successful delivery on all safety, quality, cost, and programme objectives. * Liaise with external stakeholders and contractors to convey technical information as required. * Ensure collaborative working that focuses on protecting Metro Service provision and maximising the customer experience, whether planned or reactive, across service areas, directorates, and organisational boundaries. * Will be responsible for decision making in respect of Health and Safety whilst managing staff. * Short-, medium- and long-term planning to ensure business continuity and KPI targets are met. * Will be required to show the highest levels of initiative and will lead items or projects without reference to line management. * Lead in the development of the annual financial budget for the team and be accountable for managing this effectively throughout each financial year. * Continuously strive to improve working practices such that non-value adding activities are eliminated and resources are used in the best interests of the wider organisation. * Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation, standards, policies, rules and processes. Experience/Skills Required: * Proven experience in managing and delivering capital funded planned construction and engineering railway infrastructure asset renewals within budget constraints. * HND would be desirable however must have HNC at least in Mechanical or Electrical. * Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislations. * Good communication skills both written and verbal. * High standard of organisation, planning and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workload. * Having a driving licence is essential for the role.
