Job title: Contract CNC Miller - Programmer Location: Leighton Buzzard Rate: £24 (PAYE) Duration: 6 Months + The Senior CNC Miller is responsible for setting and operating CNC Milling machines and machining of parts within the Components Manufacturing Group. The Senior CNC Miller sets up and operates plain or universal, horizontal, or vertical milling machines to perform machining operations. The Miller monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. We are seeking someone with experience of Programming, Setting and Operating Mazak CNC Machining centres with Fanuc controls. Responsibilities * Manufacturing of components to engineering drawings, using a variety of machines * Provide technical support & assistance within the cell * Maintain good housekeeping in all areas * Supporting the Business in the implementation of Continuous Improvement and Health and safety initiatives * Reporting any defects to supervision * Ensuring that they have adequate information to complete their task * Self Inspection of repeat work using the appropriate inspection equipment * Adherence to work orders - follow instructions & with speed * Perform regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on the machinery * Design & manufacture fixtures & jigs then prove out program * Any other reasonable duties Experience required * Experience of a machine shop environment * Experience in setting & operating CNC milling machines * Maintain good working relationships with others * Experience in editing a program generated from Unigraphics / Siemens NX * Experience of making simple alterations to the programme from an inspection report * Knowledge of Fanuc controls * Knowledge of Mazak CNC Vertical machinery
