Configuration Management Engineer, Bristol UK. Our Aerospace client based in Filton, Bristol, UK, requires the support of a Configuration Management Engineer. The successful candidate will be assigned on a contract basis Inside IR35 and paid PAYE through Strongfield Consultants. The initial contract is set to run for 12 months duration. You will be working on a variety of projects, some within Defence. You will be required to undergo Security Clearance vetting procedure. Candidates who have good Configuration Management / Engineering experience are invited to apply. Configuration Management functions  including product change management, planning, identification, status account and verification. Role to provide support to both existing and future development programmes along with the configuration management (CM) requirements, including but not limited to:  Identifying technical problems and applying/integrating solutions.  Identifying improvements and support the creation of work instructions, procedures, technical manuals, and guidelines. Supporting the creation of technical solutions against customer requirements; input to bids and proposals within assigned programmes/projects.  Acting as the configuration management support to the CM function on nominated programmes.  Facilitating and maintaining Change Control Boards (CCB’s)  Processing Engineering Coordination Memo (“ECM’s”)  Creating and maintaining the CM plan(s) within the assigned programmes.  Management of the product data in the  PLM system.  Supporting or generating test specifications/plans and/or alternate means of compliance (analysis/similarity) as required to demonstrate design solution complies with certification requirements.  Supporting technical and customer reviews, including formal gate reviews; the creation and preparation of technical data and presentations of product design.  Supporting the release of engineering design data and customer release data. Due to the classification nature of some of the projects, it is a requirement for the individual to hold UK residency status. Catia Experienced. Windchill experience and 3D highly desirable. You need to be a self-motivated individual, coupled with being a confident communicator, as this role will see you interacting with a variety of key personnel across the business, delivering technical data to a wide audience. Essential:  Hold a relevant technical qualification such as Bachelor, Masters or equivalent, or a relevant level of experience to perform the engineering tasks.  Meticulous attention to detail.  Demonstrate a good level of technical problem solving skills  Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of the importance of safety within the industry.  Ability to act under own initiative in relation to the assigned tasks within defined functional procedures / governance  Ability to describe technical information of a technical task to a wide audience within the engineering business  Ability to hold technical discussions with customers and suppliers as required  Have a basic knowledge and understanding of the Aerospace industryDesirable:  3+ years of relevant experience gained within an engineering discipline, ideally within an aerospace environment and in multi-disciplinary engineering project teams.  Knowledge of CM principles  Experience with a PLM tool preferably WindchIll
