Compound Supervisor Hours of work: Based upon a 45-hour working week Monday - Friday Salary: £27,000 per annum The usual start time is between 0600hrs. and 0800hrs. Compound operates from 0600 to 2200. We are looking for a Compound Supervisor to join our team, Based in Port of Sheerness, Kent. This is a permanent position working for Arctics Ltd a Staffing solutions business operating throughout the U.K. The Supervisory Team will consist of 1x Compound Manager and 2x supervisors. Responsible for supervising and managing up to 50 Yard Operatives based at our clients’ large and very busy vehicle storage facility. As one of the compound supervisors you will be an integral part of the Igloo team, playing a pivotal role in managing, and improving compound management activities. The role is divided into the following main areas of responsibility: * Induction and site familiarization of new team member * Provide motivation, guidance, and support to team members during the working day. * Ensure efficiency of team and safe working practices. * Monitoring of vehicle damage and any incident investigation, implementing damage reductions recommendation’s * Monitoring & maintaining vehicle parking standards. * Performing daily Management Team Question Meetings with the yard team. * Use bespoke Compound management software to allocate tasks to Yard Operatives using handheld scanning devices. * Liaise with our Clients departmental Managers to ensure all required vehicle movements and services are completed in a timely and efficient manner. * Generate reports detailing efficiency of the team, absence rates and damage monitoring reports. * Use good communication skills to listen to your team, share improvement ideas and support implementation. The ideal candidate Would have previous experience of working in a supervisory capacity. Have confidence in instructing colleagues and motivating others and can manage performance effectively. Ability to communicate and listen effectively. Holds both time management and priority management skills and can use logical thinking and reasoning. Can strategically manage workloads. Can demonstrate professionalism and empathy when communicating with customers and colleagues. Shows a high level of attention to detail
