Composite Technician. Our client is a dynamic and innovative business specialising in the design, development, manufacture, and automation of products constructed from composite materials. Their mission is to make composites more accessible through the application of automation and digitalization. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Composite Technician. Role Summary/Purpose: As a Composite Technician, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of composite components. This includes utilising a range of hand building processes and machinery, such as pattern building, lamination, wet processes, infusion, and RTM, all while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety and ensuring high-quality standards. Composite Technicians Main Responsibilities: - Ensure compliance with health and safety best practices and adhere to specific Airborne H&S policies. - Interpret engineering drawings and follow Airborne quality management procedures outlined in work instruction sheets. - Manufacture complex composite products, involving tasks such as preparing molds, resins, and fabric, setting up ovens, vacuum bagging, resin transfer, monitoring process parameters, product demolding, trimming, and cleanup. - Work with dry fibre and prepreg materials. - Engage in manual handling of raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products. - Utilise hand and power tools for drilling, cutting, and grinding operations while wearing appropriate PPE. Composite Technicians Desired Characteristics: - Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline or proven experience in composite manufacturing using prepreg and dry fibres. - Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical, fostering effective collaboration with team members. - Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday days
