We are recruiting Commercial Vehicle Technicians at all skill and experience levels from Semi Skilled PDI to Master Technician. Dependent upon experience, your role will include: Inspecting new vehicles in line with the PDI process recording and rectifying body or paint defects. Understanding and following the warranty process to ensure effective return of parts. Diagnosing basic to complex vehicle issues, dependent upon skill level, and to ensure vehicles are maintained, serviced, and repaired in line with manufacturers guidelines. Preparing vehicles for MOT inspection and customer handover. Preparing vehicles to ensure non-technical requirements are met e.g. signage, seating. Undertaking technical work on electrical vehicles. Investigating and undertaking complex repairs and installations on commercial vehicles. Competent in the use of diagnostic equipment including the maintenance of such equipment. Provision of emergency breakdown cover and roadside safety repairs. Assisting others within Daimler Buses UK, dependent upon your skill level, this may include mentoring apprentices, assisting other technicians with diagnostic and major repair work, and liaising with the Service Centre to organise work schedules. A Master Technician would be responsible for providing cover for the Workshop Controllers in their absence. Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards and in compliance with legal or company standards and to always maintain a safe and clean working environment, reporting immediately any deficiencies. Your Profile: Minimum requirements start from basic PDI experience up to Master Technician qualification. Experience within a busy workshop is essential. Experience with diagnosing basic to detailed vehicle issues. Experience with attending roadside vehicle repairs. Electro/mechanical knowledge relevant to the bus and coach industry is desirable. A comprehensive understanding of PSV electrical systems is required for Master Technician. Must hold a UK driving licence. A PSV licence is desirable. Proficient in general IT applications. Ability to prioritise tasks and apply a flexible approach to achieve objectives. Benefits: Hourly rate from £16.85 to £22.93 dependent upon skills and experience. A 42-hour working week with a rotating shift pattern between 06:00hrs and 18:30hrs (excluding weekends). Overtime paid at time plus 50% basic hourly rate on weekdays and time plus 75% basic hourly rate on weekends. 33 days holiday per year including statutory holidays.
