Commercial Vehicle Antenna Design & Release Engineer Our automotive OEM Client based in Dunton, Essex in the United Kingdom are searching for a Commercial Vehicle Antenna Design & Release Engineer to join their innovative design and engineering team.  This position is confirmed as £27 per hour, Inside IR35 and therefore will be subject to full PAYE tax.  Details of this can be provided on request. This is a 12-month contract with possibility of extension. The working pattern is 37 hours per working week and our Client are open to hybrid working discussions. Position Description This is an opportunity for a Commercial Vehicle Antenna Design & Release Engineer to lead the To4 (Team of four) meetings with Finance, Cost Estimating, Commodity- and Program Purchasing. Responsibilities include: Provide the engineering perspective for supplier selection by purchase. Prepare Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW), the specifications, the Engineering concept and Attachment 3 as input to the RFQ pack and provide input to the ASAP tool and support cost negotiations between Purchasing and Supplier. Adhere to GPDS process and related program timings & document deliverables. Lead appropriate Antenna PMST, support other PMSTs and interfacing activities and represent in PMT. Support Program Reviews. Requirements Management (Specification, FSMS, Part Verification/Validation, Deviation). Ensure compliance to all applicable requirements. Support Global Core teams with initiatives from Benchmarking events. Design (component development). Manage the Supplier for development of Antenna and/or associated interfaces and support the application into Vehicle Programs and ensure support for Program Launch. Develop new applications of implementation ready technology and liaise with EESE Climate Core team. Support other interfacing activities and PATs, especially the Feasibility Checkpoint reviews. Support cross-functional team-working with STA, Supplier, affected PMTs, Brand and JV partners etc. to ensure all functional targets are met. Electrical system interface / System specification / Functional integration / Diagnostics. Mechanical interface / Fixing / Geometric Development / Virtual Series. Liaise with Styling and support Design Technical Operation (DTO). Support Craftsmanship/Vehicle Harmony/Appearance (fit/finish and NVH teams) reviews. Assembly in next higher assembly and vehicle o Liaise and support DPA work streams and pre-Series builds. Drive issue resolution process via EESE recommended tracking tools and AIMS. Releasing. Manage releasing tools such as FEDEBOM and WERS (incl CAD) to ensure components are released in time for the program defined effective points. Component manufacturing. Participate in supplier engagement process and support STA throughout the PPAP phases and PSW declaration. General / Engineering Sign Off. Provide sign-off of related components by managing DV/PVP and eFDVS according to sign-off plan. Provide/support Homologation and C/FMVSS documentation. Change Management. Support/ Lead investigation of requested changes in terms of technical feasibility, cost and timing. Ensure appropriate change management (DCR tracking) and status reporting for requested changes. Quality. Lead and coordinate the development of E/E sub-system FMA workstream (incl. SCCAF) with supplier and review actions. Ensure quality objectives and robustness targets are met and that lessons learned are encompassed in future designs. Ongoing product development o Support PVT in issue resolution during series production. Lead OPD, Quality Improvement and Cost Reduction Programs (TVM), where appropriate. Support vehicle launch activities to meet program requirements (PPAP plans, AIMS resolution, part supply). This position may require occasional traveling to Supplier, development or Vehicle launch sites. Experience of using FEDE, WERS or similar systems is an advantage. Knowledge of Transit vehicle Electrical Systems and Components is an advantage. Skills Required Competent using office applications such as Excel, Outlook, Project, and Word. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to demonstrate use of initiative, perseverance, and liaison skills. Experience Required Excellent analytical and strategic skills. Project management skills with a thorough attention to detail. Strong communication and presentation and team skills. Experience of working within global teams. Strong IT skills (e.g. Excel, Teamcenter, WERS). Ability to demonstrate use of initiative, perseverance, and liaison skills. Full UK driving licence
