This pivotal role is responsible for generating qualified new business opportunities, nurturing prospects, and driving early-stage sales pipeline growth. You will be the first point of contact for potential clients, introducing them to our solutions and preparing leads for handover to the wider sales team. This role requires a confident communicator with a natural ability to build rapport, identify business opportunities, and articulate technical product benefits in a clear and accessible way. You'll work closely with Marketing, Technical, and Sales teams to develop targeted outreach campaigns and leverage market intelligence to maximise pipeline quality and conversion potential. Key Responsibilities: Execute intelligent, targeted prospecting activities to engage new accounts and generate Sales Qualified Opportunities (SQOs). Own and maintain an active sales funnel, ensuring daily routines for lead generation, qualification, and follow-up are embedded and effective. Collaborate with Marketing to research and prioritise ideal customer profiles, building and maintaining a robust pipeline of prospects. Craft and implement outbound outreach strategies across multiple channels (email, calls, social media) to drive initial interest and discovery conversations. Align outbound activities with inbound marketing campaigns to maximise market engagement. Develop and refine your understanding of technical products and solutions to effectively communicate their value proposition. Build and maintain a library of technical and sales resources to support prospecting and client discussions. Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth. Provide detailed, accurate reports on sales activity, campaign performance, and pipeline development to the Internal Sales Manager and Head of Sales. Liaise with the Technical and Product teams to understand product applications and translate technical knowledge into impactful sales messaging. Ensure CRM tools (e.g., Pipeline platform) are consistently updated and accurate. Assist in post-training activities such as processing incoming leads, following up quotations, and maintaining account health where required. Temporary Training Duties (as required): Manage a specific portfolio of existing customers, ensuring regular engagement and growth opportunities are identified. Prepare, manage, and follow-up on customer quotations. Re-engage dormant accounts or legacy contact lists to identify potential new business opportunities. Person Specification: Essential: Demonstrated success in B2B sales development or lead generation roles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong organisational skills, self-discipline, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively. Working knowledge of CRM systems and best practices in lead nurturing and management. Confident, self-motivated, and resilient with a desire to achieve and exceed targets.Desirable: Good general education (Maths & English Grade D or above or equivalent). Proficiency in MS Office 365 suite and CRM platforms; familiarity with SAP B1 is advantageous. Previous experience in technical sales, customer service, or inside sales roles.
