Cut, strip, and bend wire leads at ends of coils, using pliers and wire scrapers. Cut wire to length and wind in place, or count turns of wire in the coil being replaced and wind on the corresponding number. Attach, alter, and trim materials such as wire, insulation, and coils, using hand tools. Line slots with sheet insulation and insert coils into slots. Assemble metal or plastic parts or products. May test armatures, solder ends of coils to commutator segments, wind field coils, and perform other duties as required. Required Skills: Dexterity: Perform delicate coil winding actions with precision and attention to detail. Hand Tools: Operate coil-winding machines and specified hand tools to wind coils efficiently. Brazing: Use brazing equipment to connect metal pieces together, utilizing various tools and equipment like torches, solder irons, and induction brazing equipment.
