Grantrow Recruitment are looking for an experienced CNC Technician to join our client based in Birmingham to set and operate CNC Milling / Turning and Multi-Axis machines to produce components for the Aerospace sector. Benefits Canteen On-site Parking Company Pension Competitive Salary Details £15.00 to £19.00 per hour Birmingham Permanent AM and PM shifts availableDuties & Responsibilities Setting & operating CNC Milling/ Turning/ Multi-Axis machines to produce components for the Aerospace sector. Operate Mazak & other types of equipment with predominantly Mazatrol controls. Monitoring and inspecting product and process characteristics within the scope of their activities, carrying out production first-off inspections, quantity counts, recording the details and signing and dating the Inspection Check Sheets. Notifying Supervision following the detection of suspect or non-conforming products. Notifying Supervision following the completion of specified production activities, as applicable. Ensuring products are finished off safely and properly in line with good practice e.g., removal of burrs, countersinking etc. as appropriate) and transporting them to the next process Holding Area. Carrying out relevant safety checks and maintenance on plant and equipment used, as applicable. The provision and maintenance of relevant Quality records. Follow all available customer information/drawings/standards etc. to fully satisfy the customer's requirement. Complete work in a timely manner to the required quality standard. To identify opportunities for improvement in quality and efficiency. Experience of using Masak, Fanuc, Dusan and Matsura KPI's & Controls Adherence to PPE requirements. Adherence to standard work and instructions included in Job Packs. Correct tooling and materials used. Identify where the process can be improved in terms of speed, metal removal & tooling. Ensuring quality workmanship in line with best practice. Ensuring first-off inspections are undertaken to confirm programmes are correctly applied. Close liaison with the Quality team in order that problem areas can be identified as soon as possible with a view to corrective and preventive action being carried out. Assistance in resolving setting problems. Close liaison with the Team Leader / Production Controller regarding production schedule requirements.Standard Responsibilities Maintaining a hazard-free environment. Adhering to safety regulations and procedures at all times. Adhering to the company's Quality Management System at all times. Enforcing good housekeeping practices at all times.
