We are looking for a CMM Inspector/Operator to join a world leading engineering business at their state-of-the-art facility in Coventry for a 6-month contract with the potential to extend. As a CMM Inspector/Operator, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of product quality and compliance. You will operate the CMM equipment, generate detailed reports, and use specialised test and measuring tools to ensure our products meet stringent quality standards. Your work will directly impact our production efficiency and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities of the CMM Inspector/Operator: Operate a Mitutoyo CMM and other specialist test equipment to validate product conformance and generating comprehensive reports to document your findings. Conduct Process Control Audits across various departments—Supplies, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Despatch—to ensure adherence to quality protocols. Execute First Article Inspections in line with Quality Procedures, ensuring every product meets the standards from the get-go. Be accountable for the accuracy and quality of your work, proactively identifying and minimising potential errors. To maintain component traceability of parts throughout the manufacturing process & reporting of any documentation errors to supervision. Responsible for the associated paperwork that supports the manufacturing documentation required for the product being processed. Foster strong relationships within your team and across departments, contributing to a collaborative work environment that drives our objectives forward. Participate in Daily Layered Accountability meetings and engage in ongoing improvement initiatives, ensuring we stay at the forefront of quality assurance practices. What You’ll Bring: An engineering apprenticeship is desirable, although training will be given At least 1 year of experience in an engineering manufacturing facility with a focus on quality inspection. Experience operating CMM machinery, determining and deciphering reports Experience with Mitutoyo machines would be beneficial but not essential. Visual inspection and final inspection experience, using handheld measuring equipment, such as verniers, callipers and micrometers Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Programming experience is beneficial but not essential Proficiency in computer systems (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Q-Pulse). Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with an ability for working independently. A commitment to compliance with company and health, safety, and environmental procedures.
