About this position: We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Chassis and Powertrain Engineer to work for a design and engineering consultancy who deliver premium services. They are known for creating and crafting bespoke products in a variety of sectors from Automotive through to Lifestyle and Travel. Job Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be responsible for chassis design and powertrain packaging. The candidate should be comfortable in taking ownership for the delivery and successful completion of components under their control. In order to be successful, the candidate needs to be able to work at a high level across multiple disciplines. * Chassis and powertrain design and package engineer reporting to the engineering manager. * The role will require design of suspension components such as wishbones and anti-roll bars as well as providing mounting of all suspension components back to the chassis. * In addition the packaging of powertrain components such as E-Motors, Inverters, driveshafts and cooling systems is required. * Work closely with the engineering team to create solutions to difficult problems, then see these through to manufacture and assembly onto the finished vehicle. * The role will involve working with customers and suppliers as well as being hands on with components, systems and vehicles. Experience Required: * Experienced automotive/motorsport chassis or powertrain design engineer with at least 5 years of experience within the industry. * A demonstrable, broad knowledge of chassis and powertrain components and systems design and ownership is required, an all-rounder attitude is required with a desire to be involved across the design and engineering of underbody components. * A background in finite element analysis during the design of structural underbody components is preferred. * An understanding of suspension system geometry design and set up is desired. * Ideally familiar with working on small volume/bespoke vehicles and products to tight time scales in a dynamic environment. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with a well organised and methodical approach to planning and executing projects with minimal supervision. * CATIA V5 experience required as well as the ability to create 2D technical drawings and follow a structured part release process
