Main Purpose of CAD Designer The main purpose of the CAD Designer role is to create and model metal and interior/exterior trim components using computer-aided design software. Additionally, the CAD Designer will be responsible for managing CAD data in Teamcenter, preparing engineering release packs, and supporting various engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities of CAD Designer CAD design and modeling of metal and interior/exterior trim components. Management of created CAD data into Teamcenter, ensuring all model attributes are completed. Preparation of engineering release packs. Work under the direction of the lead project engineer on a day-to-day basis. Take CAD designs from concept to finished model and produce finished drawings for engineering release where applicable. Support and investigate the resolution of build issues during pre-production builds and launch phases. Support cost-down activities on current production vehicles. Experience / Knowledge for the CAD Designer Role Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD). Experience in CAD design and modeling of metal and interior/exterior trim components. Familiarity with Teamcenter or similar product lifecycle management (PLM) software. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage CAD data accurately. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under the direction of project engineers. Knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing processes related to automotive components.
