Job Title: Buyer / Planner Location: Sheffield Industry: Aerospace manufacturing  Salary: £45,310 per annum Hours: 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 1.00pm Friday Contract: Full-time, permanent Are you an experienced Buyer looking to expand your skill set? This is a permanent role with full training in production planning, offering a structured path to grow your career within a high-spec manufacturing environment. We’re supporting a well-established aerospace manufacturer in Sheffield in their search for a Buyer / Planner. While your primary focus will be on purchasing, you’ll receive full support and training to take on planning responsibilities as part of a collaborative supply chain team. It’s a long-term opportunity with development built in, offering exposure to a sector known for its complexity, quality standards and career progression. What you’ll be doing: Manage purchasing of materials and components to meet production needs Learn and support planning responsibilities across production scheduling Use MRP tools to plan supply, check capacity and maintain accurate data Track supplier performance and follow up on delivery metrics Work to reduce inventory risk, excess and obsolete stock Identify cost savings, dual sourcing options and supplier improvements Build strong internal and external relationships with production and supplier teams What you’ll need: Experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within manufacturing or engineering Confident working with suppliers, lead times and delivery targets Comfortable using Excel and MRP or ERP systems (EFACS experience is a bonus) Familiarity with BOMs, routings or technical drawings CIPS Level 4 preferred, or Level 3 with strong experience A proactive approach and willingness to develop your planning skills What’s in it for you?
