Baggage Handler Location: Gatwick Airport Pay rate: £12.95 per hour Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off Shift: Nights, 12 hour shifts Night Shift starting times: 6pm or 7pm Job Description: * Physically loading and unloading cargo, mail and baggage into aircraft. * Segregation and build up of baggage according to destination, into containers in preparation for departure. * Assist with the turnaround of aircraft, working with various departments to ensure delays are avoided. * Ensure security protocols of the company and airlines are maintained. * Ensure safety processes are followed in all aspects of the job. * Report any discrepancies noted while performing assigned tasks. * Working as part of a team during the aircraft turnaround with tight deadlines. Person Specifications required: * Candidates must be able to provide 5 years checkable work/educational history for referencing purposes and criminal record check * Must hold a UK manual driving license * Must be able to provide photo ID & eligibility to work in the UK (UK Passport OR EU Passport & Share Code OR Non-EU Passport & Visa/Biometric Card) UK Citizens only: UK Driving Licence & UK Full Birth Certificate) * Must be able to provide 5year UK address history * Must be willing to have a Criminal Record Check * Must be able to provide proof of National Insurance No & Proof of address dated within the last 3mths * Fluent written and spoken English required, fluency in another language would be beneficial * Excellent communication/interpersonal skills * Candidates of all levels of experience are welcome to apply.
