Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit an Axle CAD Engineer, and the role comes with a contract rate of £23.06 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35). Reporting to the Axle Function & Integration Chapter Leader, you will support the delivery of the design of the suspension/axle concept and associated CAD geometry to meet the agreed timing for multiple nameplates off a platform. To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do: Support the integration of corner modules and axle links into subframes and the rest of the vehicle for all vehicles across the platform Respond to work requests and follow technical direction, methods and processes provided by the Solution Architect to complete programme deliverables Create suspension layout studies and check the packaging, including consideration of kinematics, dynamic envelopes, compliances, tuning and component variability Generate suspension hard point datasheets for release, plus selected other chassis geometry. You will also require the following: Knowledge of automotive suspension system design Experience using Catia V5 or V6 (3D experience) Knowledge of suspension design fundamentals Good working knowledge of axle system targets and attribute interaction Knowledge of product creation and delivery, product definition and change management processes.
