Avionic Trade Lead – RAF Leeming Location: RAF Leeming Contract: Permanent Salary: £48,000 Shift Pattern: 3 days on, 4 days off Morson Talent is recruiting for an Avionic Trade Lead to oversee a team delivering Line Maintenance and Component Maintenance at RAF Leeming. This is a key leadership role requiring strong technical expertise and people management skills. Key Responsibilities: ✔ Supervise and manage a team of technicians, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to regulatory standards ✔ Monitor and prioritise maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with all regulations and procedures ✔ Maintain task authorisation and oversee tooling, test equipment, and compliance checks ✔ Provide guidance and leadership, developing team members and supporting training initiatives ✔ Promote Human Factors, Error Management, and Safety Assurance within the team ✔ Ensure all documentation and records are completed in accordance with regulatory requirements What We’re Looking For: ✅ Essential Skills & Qualifications: Completed an Engineering Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent Minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance Broad and in-depth product knowledge within avionics and maintenance operations Experience in team leadership and supervision within an aerospace environment Ability to attain a C License (CAT C) with certification & supervisory privileges Strong IT skills and understanding of regulatory frameworks Desirable Skills: Type rating on relevant aircraft Completion of Hawk Trade ‘Q’ Course Familiarity with ITAR, E&PW Awareness, and Human Factors training Working Hours: Shift Pattern: 3 days on, 4 days off This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Avionics professional to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced and dynamic aerospace environment.
