Assessment Technician -R&D Essex Permanent Our customer is an UK CAA, FAA, EASA 145 & ISO 9001 approved MRO facility, located near London Southend Airport. Servicing and supporting components for a global network of aviation partners. They have a dedicated sales team providing AOG support for airlines worldwide An exciting new opportunity for a Research and Development Technician to join the team. We currently require a fulltime permanent Assessment Technician within our busy Research & Development department. The candidate will be working within a small team reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. The position of Assessment Technician requires basic electronic/electrical/mechanical maintenance and manufacturing related knowledge, plus computer skills - Microsoft Office, data input, and a small amount of programming (downloading a software programme). The ability to read and understand manufacturers component maintenance manuals, CMM's, test sheets. Previous tooling experience and the ability to interpret information essential. Producing job cards based on all of the above, identifying what is needed for each individual job. Candidates from Automotive, Manufacturing, Tech Publications, Medical Technology backgrounds welcome. The applicants should be able to demonstrate the following: •Previous experience in an R and D role preferred. •Hand Soldering, crimping, and Wiring techniques. •Test Set fabrication. •Conversant with following technical drawings and schematics. •Conversant with MS Office suite and programming. •Ability to understand tooling and prove equivalency for tooling by referencing technical data.
