Assembly Lead Our client is one of the UK’s leading and fastest-growing manufacturers with-in aerospace • £29,000 annual salary 25 days holiday + bank holidays • Pension • Healthcare scheme (Private medical) • Life assurance • Employee Assistance Programme • Retail discounts • Training opportunities • 37.5 hours per week – 1 pm finish on a Friday Job Description Our client is currently seeking Assembly Leads to support their Production Operations and train Production Teams to build and assemble their products according to takt times and quality standards, in line with the Production Plan and their processes and procedures. As an Assembly Lead, you will also support Kaizen events and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities * Adhere to all production documentation, instructions, and drawings detailing the correct method of production. * Support and train new starters on the production line to build and assemble the client’s products to the required quality standards and takt times. * Perform upskilling of production teams when requested. * Routinely check the quality of Assembly Operator output and ensure productivity levels across Assembly Operators remain consistently high to meet the Production Plan. * Act as the first point of contact on the line for Assembly Operator requests for direction on assembly or quality. * Uphold all batch and serial number traceability requirements, ensuring accuracy at all times. * Ensure quality standards are consistently met and maintained. * Follow and complete all work in a timely manner, in the agreed priority and schedule order. * Maintain and promote good Health & Safety standards within your area and across the client’s operations. * Support continuous improvement activities throughout the factory, participating in and supporting outcomes including efficiency gains and waste reduction exercises. * Help maintain manufacturing KPI targets as communicated periodically. * Ensure that your personal attitude and behavior are professional, respectful, and positive, acting as a role model to colleagues. * Use all tooling in a safe and effective manner for its intended purpose. * Actively engage in the client’s training programs and cross-skilling to ensure your skills and level of training are of the highest attainable level, making you fully flexible and able to build the widest range of products. * Assist in reducing raw material wastage by acting carefully and responsibly. * Collaborate and communicate effectively with support departments (Sales, Design, Supply Chain) as required. Skills and Experience Required * Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. * Relevant experience in a Production Operator role or a similar factory/industrial-based role in a lean manufacturing environment. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. * A calm and methodical approach to training colleagues. Flexible, adaptable, and able to plan and set priorities for your workload and that of Assembly Operators in line with Production Plans.
