Job Title: Apprentice Automation Machinist Location: Wrexham Salary: National Apprentice Wage Hours: Monday – Thursday 08:00-17:15 ( working every other Friday 08:00-16:15 ) Job Description: As an Apprentice automation machinist, you will work as part of our Automation team, contributing to the design, construction, and deployment of automated production systems and equipment both domestically and internationally. Your primary objective will be to drive down the costs associated with remanufacturing toner cartridges. Our client’s automation team, create bespoke automated equipment / production lines, working with major suppliers and utilising processes such as 3D printing, industrial robots, cobots, while incorporating smart factory, industry 4.0 technologies Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain hands-on experience in machining a diverse array of components using various materials. Additionally, you will play a vital role in assisting with the assembly of automated machinery, further honing your skills and expertise in this field. Responsibilities: Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings  Program XYZ bed mill using XYZ ProtoTrak software Produce machined component to be used on our in-house produced machines using various manufacturing techniques  Performing 2nd Op’s  Maintaining machine shop equipment through a TPM program  Assist in the final assembly of our automation machines  Ensure the Health & safety and 5’s of machine shop / assembly area Working on: Producing Drawing using Solid Edge CAD Programming and running XYZ mills Second Op’s of components Turning Parts using Manual Lathe  Producing parts on Lazer cutter, 3D Printer Assembly / Bench fitting of components and jigs  Qualifications: You will have completed or pursuing a Level 2 Diploma in Machining (Foundation knowledge) or Level  3 Diploma in Advance Manufacturing (Development Competence – Machinery)  Have practical and technical skills, including understanding of engineering drawings and principles Works well independently and within a team environment  You will need to be a proactive problem solver with an analytical approach. We want a team member who is dedicated and tenacious with an ability to quickly learn new concepts, take ownership of tasks and work to tight deadlines, whilst able to work well under pressure. A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 4 (Grade C). Including English, Science and Mathematics lease note the apprenticeship could differ in length of training depending on the programme you are enrolled. The starting salary will be the national apprentice wage.
