You role is to co-ordinate and manage the daily aerodrome activities in accordance with CAA Regulations, the Aerodrome Manual and Safety Management System to ensure that a safe and efficient operation is maintained Main duties & responsibilities * To deputise for the Head of Operations in his absence. * Accountable for the effective provision and line management of the Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (RFFS), Airside and Landside Operations and the Maintenance Department. * Responsible for ensuring that aerodrome procedures, practices and activities are conducted in accordance with relevant aerodrome license requirements, CAA publications (mandatory and advisory). Review changes in documentation to ensure compliance is maintained by revising procedures. * To ensure the safe throughput of aircraft movements, through liaison with Air Traffic Control, the RFFS, and Airside Operations. This is especially pertinent in the event of adverse weather conditions, aerodrome or operational incidents, navigational aid failure or other disruptions. * Accountable for managing the airport hangarage and parking plan and the liaison with all relevant stakeholders to make this a smooth operation. * To ensure effective communication both internally and externally on all matters relating to the Airfield Operation and safety issues. * Safeguarding of the aerodrome and local airspace environment, in relation to temporary obstructions or structures. * Responsible for the delivery of an effective Airside Safety Training and Driver Awareness Training Programmes, in accordance with the guidelines issued in CAP 642 and the Aerodrome Manual * Responsibility for ensuring that airfield inspections are completed in accordance with EASA and the Aerodrome Manual, and that faults and defects are rectified. * Planning and implementing of new procedures and safety systems to improve airport operations – including maintenance of accurate and complete records * Responsible for the tactical management of the Winter Snow Plan. Knowledge & Skills * Strong leadership, management and communication skills. * The ability to identify and deliver solutions to complex problems, reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options. * Decision Making – considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and to select the most appropriate. * Analysis – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. * Management of personnel by motivating, developing, and directing people as they work * Excellent organisational and time management skills Due to the high volume of applications, we receive for our job adverts we are unable to respond to all candidates.
