Aircraft Fitter / Sheet Metal Worker - Manchester On behalf of our client, a specialist Aerospace manufacturing business, we're actively recruiting a number of skilled Aircraft Fitters / Sheet Metal Workers to join their growing team in Manchester on a permanent basis. The Role As an Aircraft Fitter / Sheet Metal Worker, you'll play a vital role in the fabrication, assembly, and structural fitting of high-precision aerospace components. Key responsibilities include: Interpreting and working from detailed aerospace engineering drawings and specifications. Assembling airframe and structural components to tight tolerances. Profiling, shaping, and forming sheet metal parts using manual and semi-automated techniques. Operating tools and equipment such as rubber presses, hand-forming tools, and other fabrication machinery. Performing processes such as drilling, countersinking, riveting, sealant application, and fitting helicoils, bearings, and bushes. Working collaboratively to ensure production deadlines and stringent quality standards are consistently met. About You The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience in aerospace fitting, sheet metal work, or a transferable high-precision manufacturing environment. Strong ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications. Practical hands-on experience with fitting, forming, and fabrication techniques including riveting and sealant application. An eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. What's On Offer 4 day working week - contracted 36 hours (Monday to Thursday).
