Aircraft Technician - Safety Systems As an Aircraft Technician - Safety Systems, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational integrity of emergency systems critical to the safety of passengers and crew. Your core responsibilities will involve the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and testing of essential aircraft safety components, including evacuation slides, life rafts, and life vests. Working in a highly regulated, precision-focused workshop environment, you'll use approved tooling, test equipment, and OEM documentation to perform tasks in compliance with EASA Part-145, FAA, and other international aviation standards. Every action you take will directly support the airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and safety of commercial aircraft. Key Responsibilities Inspect, functionally test, repair, overhaul, and certify: Emergency evacuation slides Life rafts and survival equipment Life vests/jackets and inflation systems Perform maintenance in strict accordance with: Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and OEM procedures EASA/FAA/CAA/DGAC/ILT regulations Company work cards and internal documentation Conduct precise pressure and leak tests, as well as visual inspections using calibrated tools and fixtures Handle hazardous materials responsibly, ensuring correct use, shelf-life monitoring, and compliant disposal Accurately document all work using the Maintenance Information System (MIS) or other approved formats Maintain full traceability of all parts, tools, and consumables used Follow all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and wear appropriate PPE Support customer, internal, and regulatory audits as needed Contribute to ongoing improvements in workshop practices, tooling, and quality systems Qualifications & Requirements Technical qualification such as a diploma, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or Mechanical Technology Minimum of 2 years' experience in an aircraft maintenance or component MRO environment Preferred (but not essential) OEM or product-specific training on aircraft safety equipment Knowledge of: EASA Part-145, FAA 145, DGAC, ILT standards Industry-standard documentation such as CMM, IPC, AMM Skills & Competencies Strong mechanical aptitude and technical proficiency Ability to accurately interpret and follow technical drawings and manuals Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality Skilled in the use of hand tools, pressure testing equipment, and nitrogen systems Comfortable using digital systems for maintenance tracking and reporting Clear communicator and effective team collaborator High awareness of safety protocols and workshop hazards Working Conditions Based in a controlled, component-level workshop environment Occasional travel between sites may be required Physically active role, involving standing, lifting, and working with pressurized systems Must comply with PPE, tool control, and all relevant safety practices What We Offer Competitive salary with performance-based incentives Comprehensive training and development programs (regulatory, OEM-specific, safety) Dynamic, multinational work environment committed to excellence Clear pathways for career progression (Senior Technician, Team Leader, Quality roles) Full compliance with regulatory training (Human Factors, EWIS, FTS) and ongoing technical upskilling
