We have an opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic/Technician to join our team in Lichfield based in the Workshop. The Role Our HGV Technicians are responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of our fleet vehicles. Ensuring the vehicles remain operational and comply with any legislations. As a qualified HGV Technician to at least NVQ level 2 or time served equivalent, you will have a track record working in similar environments. About You In order to be a success as a Workshop HGV Technician, we would expect you to both share our values as a business and be able to demonstrate success in a similar role. A busy location with a team that is motivated and focused on ensuring our customers’ vehicles are serviced and repaired to the highest standard whilst adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. You will diagnose problems using the equipment available and rectify them using a systematic approach. You will have a good track record in Heavy Vehicle maintenance along with the relevant NVQ, C&G or similar qualifications and will be able to articulate your successes in a similar service in a similar environment. In order to minimise customers’ downtime, we aim to increase ‘First time fix’ so good attention to detail is required. IRTEC qualification would be desirable but is not essential. Other duties will include: * Carrying out preventive maintenance in accordance with Ryder policies and procedures * Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles mainly trailers, replacing parts as and when necessary in line with Company and legislative requirements * Carry out servicing, inspections, MOT preparation and defects to all vehicles. * Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard * Maintain the highest health and safety culture on site and following all working practices.
