You’ll be maintaining the operation of the workshops whilst working as part of a team, gaining job satisfaction and the ability to progress in your career too! In the Workshop Supervisor job, you will be: Accountable for supervisory responsibility for technicians, apprentices and private contractors Ensuring the servicing programme relating to vehicles and equipment is followed and completed on time, and coordinating the work of any off-site working Assisting with administrative work including the signing and verification of job cards, ladder certificates, inspection checklists and all necessary audit related documentation Producing pre-targeted guidelines for all maintenance and repair work undertaken, including monitoring and verification of targets reached Ensuring that all equipment is serviced and that goods purchased comply with minimum standards Identifying problems under warranty, and arranging rectification or in-house repair and invoicing as necessary Providing support and training to vehicle technicians and apprentices, ensuring any training needs are assessed any recommendations are sent for approval Ensuring consumable stock levels are kept at reasonable levels within the workshop including workshop vans Ensuring expenditure is controlled and health and safety policy is adhered to and any problems are immediately reported Maintaining the Reserve Fleet, taking account of general servicing, modifications and repair requirements Maintaining required staffing levels within the workshop by monitoring absence including sickness and annual leave The post holder may be required to undertake additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the Service including acting in absence of workshop manager in dealing with queries and making managerial decisions to suit To be considered for the Workshop Supervisor role, you must have: City and Guilds Level 3 Craft Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent Demonstratable experience in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Experience of running a Fleet Maintenance facility and managing a team of multiskilled Vehicle Technicians A high level of competency in diagnostic/electrical fault finding and rectification using diagnostic equipment IT skills; using computers, Microsoft Office packages, and the ability to produce and interpret reports and spreadsheets Experience using and navigating Fleet Management software for tracking and auditing processes An LGV category C driving licence or possess the ability to achieve it within the 12-month probationary period Experience driving a range of vehicles from small cars to Large Goods Vehicles IRTEC Certificate of Competence to ‘Master Technician’ status or the ability to work towards achieving In-depth knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety Management Ability to work towards and achieve IOSH Managing Safely qualification First Aid at Work Qualification Excellent communication, prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines Ability to provide technical reports, business cases and hold technical staff meetings/briefings This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week on a salary of £32,798 to £35,336 per annum PLUS employee benefits. In addition, an 8.5% allowance will be paid for being part of the team that provides out of hours on-call cover, which is provided on a rota-based system. The workshop is based at Tre-Marl Industrial Estate in Llandudno Junction; however, the role will involve travelling out to stations and other sites as required, i.e., if any vehicles or equipment breaks down, you may need to attend the site or incident location to resolve.  Please note that this post is subject to a DBS Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
