Workshop Manager Job Summary: This is a hands-on role that blends MOT testing, vehicle servicing and repairs, and front-of-house customer service. As Workshop Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the workshop, support our valued customers, and help drive growth and efficiency. Workshop Manager Key Responsibilities: MOT & Workshop Duties: Conduct Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles Ensure all documentation and vehicle records are accurately completedWorkshop Management: Manage and allocate jobs within the workshop to ensure timely completion Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in line with customer expectationsCustomer Liaison & Admin: Book in MOTs, services, and repair work Liaise with customers regarding work required, progress updates, and invoicing Generate quotes, invoices, and process payments using garage management systemsBusiness Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers Promote garage services and uphold the company's strong local reputation Identify and implement ideas to improve workshop revenue and efficiencyWorkshop Manager Criteria Qualified MOT Tester (Class 4 minimum) Excellent Admin and IT skills Full UK Driving Licence Proven experience of managing people Level 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, organised, and confident managing a busy workshop A team player who takes pride in their work and values great customer service
