Gloucester £40,000 DOE ⏰ 45 hours – Mon-Fri and Saturdays on rota We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Workshop Controller to lead and inspire our workshop team at our dealership in Gloucester. The successful candidate will manage the workflow within the workshop, ensuring the quality and compliance of all tasks performed. A key focus will be on maximizing utilization and ensuring technicians operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with all guidelines. You will guide the workshop team to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain profitability, and adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times. Job Responsibilities: * Ensure all workshop processes are meticulously followed for every job. * Receive job cards from service reception, allocate work to technicians after pre-timing each job to maximize sold hours, and monitor job progress. * Oversee MOT processes to ensure quality workmanship and a first-time pass rate. * Ensure 100% sign-off on completed inspections, maintaining the legality and safety of our customer’s Operator’s license. * Identify warranty items for each job, label replaced parts, complete appropriate documentation, and pass it for action. * Audit job packs to ensure they are ready for processing through administration and invoicing. * Schedule all PDIs and used vehicle preparation to meet sales department requirements. * Address customer complaints quickly and effectively or escalate them according to the complaint process if necessary. * Supervise junior staff, ensuring they perform their designated duties correctly, addressing any problems, quality issues, or training needs. * Adhere to all service processes, quality checks, MOT requirements, and company policies. * Ensure compliance with all company and trade association policies, procedures, minimum standards, and statutory requirements, including trading standards, vehicle and consumer legislation, fire safety, and health and safety regulations. * Handle all internal and external customers and suppliers with courtesy, ensuring an exceptional experience is delivered to all contacts at all times. This role will be perfect for you if you: * Have achieved industry qualifications to a minimum of Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or Mechanical Engineering (all modules completed). * Possess strong knowledge and experience with passenger cars. * Have previous experience as a senior technician. * Have a strong technical background. * Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills. * Exhibit strong leadership abilities and the capacity to delegate effectively. * Can work well under pressure and multitask in a busy environment. * Have the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. * Possess great verbal and written communication skills and the ability to inspire others. * Have supervisory experience.
