Job Title: Workshop Controller Location: Car Dealer in Bury Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the workshop, including coordinating and delegating tasks to a team of 10 to 15 members of staff, comprising technicians, testers, and administrative personnel. Allocate work efficiently to ensure optimal utilisation of resources, including 8 ramps and 2 tester bays, while maintaining high-quality standards. Monitor workflow and productivity levels, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines and targets. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and conduct regular risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment. Liaise with customers to schedule vehicle servicing, repairs, and MOT tests, providing updates on progress and discussing additional work as required. Utilise new additions to the workshop, including 2 brand new spray booths, effectively to enhance service offerings and customer satisfaction. Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and support the development of workshop staff. Address customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally to ensure positive outcomes and satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of work completed, including job cards, invoices, and customer information.Requirements: Previous experience in a similar role within the automotive industry, preferably within a dealership setting. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact confidently with both customers and colleagues. Comprehensive understanding of vehicle servicing and repair processes, with proficiency in workshop operations and procedures. Flexibility to work 40 hours per week with a flexible start and finish time, including 1 in 2 Saturdays. Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in computer systems and software, with experience in workshop management tools being advantageous.
