The Ideal Candidate Do you have a desire to move your career towards the Rail sector? You will be experienced in the fault diagnostics, maintenance and repair of Diesel / Electric engines and / or propulsion systems. You will also be required to be educated to NVQ3 in an engineering discipline as a minimum. Working in the customer location that is a highly safety critical environment, you will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including medicals, drug and alcohol screens Due to the nature of the role, we welcome applications from the ex-forces personnel, such as RAF, Royal Navy or British Army, or experienced engineers within Marine, Rail, Automotive, HGV or PCV sector. The Role As the Vehicle Technician, you’ll be carrying out fault diagnostics on modern diesel engines and battery powerpacks. Fully product training will be provided as the technicians are responsible as product experts for ensuring performance and availability for the diesel engines in the Trains. Whilst being hands on work; at the heart of this role is being able to undertake remote diagnostic work to obtain, evaluate and interpret data to identify likely faults before physically seeing the engine. This represents intermediate fault-finding activity and fault resolution courtesy of effective condition monitoring. The Salary Basic salary of £37,000 per annum. This role a field-based role, paid door to door, covering Luton to North London, Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm, 40 hours a week, 25 Days holiday + BH, Attractive pension scheme, private medical and other big company benefits are offered as standard.
