IMH Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician for our client based in Barnsley (S71). You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the Council’s municipal fleet, ensuring all work meets required legal and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and repairs on municipal vehicles * Diagnose faults using specialist equipment and present findings * Ensure all work complies with health & safety and regulatory standards * Provide advice and guidance on vehicle maintenance and repairs * Undertake physically demanding repair work * Liaise with internal teams, stakeholders, and the public * Support service improvement and contribute to policy development * Complete all relevant documentation and reports Requirements: * Level 3 Motor Vehicle Qualification * Cat C & D1 driving licences * DCPC card and digital tachograph card * Experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, or fleet repair * Strong understanding of health & safety procedures * Good communication and IT skills (Microsoft Office) * Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable: * Experience in municipal fleet maintenance or inspection/audit processes * Knowledge of local government operations * Willingness to undertake Category C licence training (if required) Hours & Pay: * Tuesday to Thursday, 7:30am – 5:15pm. * £17.12 per hour. * Weekly pay (via agency) Sounds like you?
