Gi group have an excellent opportunity for a 2 vehicle technician to join the team at one of the most prestigious automotive global manufacturers based in Woking. Start date will be as soon as possible and the role will be ongoing with opportunity for permanent placement after 3 month period. Pay rate £14.50 per hour for the first 12 weeks and raising to £14.56 per hour after 12 weeks worked. Working 43.75 hours per week The role will be the final check before the car leaves the factory so it is essential that you have excellent attention for detail. Working as part of a small, multi functional team, reporting to a Production Group Leader. The role encourages involvement in improving performance for the team, in quality and cost control, productivity and areas of safety. The role requires a flexible approach to working hours, possibility including shifts and weekend work. About the role; Working on shifts that alternate weekly; 05:30pm to 14:45pm and 15:00pm to 00:15pm. - Understand and follow detailed work instructions relating to the construction, painting or assembling of vehicles. - Ensure that all station operations on each vehicle are completed to the required quality standard. - Ensure that all operations are completed to the required timescale. - Work as part of a team on the definition and solution of problems that may be affecting the quality, cost or productivity of the vehicles being produced. - Attend the workplace on a regular and timely basis, informing the group leader of any lateness or unplanned absence in a timely manner. - Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations. - Maintain a neat and orderly appearance within the workplace, using the uniform/ clothing provided. - Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and other team members, participating in safety activities as requested. - Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested. Personal Attributes and Skills Required; - No formal qualifications are necessary; however a foundation in engineering and/or experience within automotive or manufacturing would be a distinct advantage. - For some positions, specific skills may be required e.g. Composite lay-up & reparation, diagnostics, mechanical vehicle repair, bare metal repair, etc. -Prior experience of working as part of a team is desirable. - Prior experience of working to timescales would be advantageous. - Quality focused with meticulous attention to detail. - Ability to follow processes set in place. - The candidate must take great pride in their work and have a process driven work ethic. - The candidate will be quality focused, punctual, willing to learn and conscientious. - The candidate must be extremely trust worthy and works effectively as part of a team. - Needs to have commitment and drive to succeed. - Ability to communicate and interact effectively within the organisation. - Perform in an environment of continuous improvement. - Ability to work effectively under pressure. - The candidate must be enthusiastic, self motivated and reliable.
