Vehicle Mechanic Technician Blaenau Gwent Permanent Contract Salary £31,200 to £35360 per annum DOE * Pension contributions * Paid overtime opportunities Full Time - Hours 8am to 4pm or 9am-5pm(40 hrs per week), occasional Saturday mornings. We are looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our clients friendly team in providing high-quality automotive service and maintenance. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities: * Conduct preparation maintenance and servicing tasks on a variety of vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections, ready for sale * Diagnose and repair vehicle systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems. * Utilise diagnostic equipment and technical resources to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively. * Perform vehicle inspections to identify any safety concerns or potential problems. * Complete repairs efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards. * Communicate with customers regarding recommended repairs, estimated costs, and repair timelines. * Keep accurate records of all services and repairs performed on vehicles. * Stay updated on new automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development. * Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. * Collaborate with colleagues and work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals. Requirements: * Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, in a similar role. * Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. * Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and resolve vehicle issues. * Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic codes. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Outstanding customer service and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Valid driver's license and clean driving record. * Relevant vocational qualifications in automotive engineering or a related field. * Certification from the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) or equivalent is desirable * MOT Tester licence desirable but not essential
