Leadership, management and development of the transport team, ensuring that the team are multiskilled across a variety of disciplines. Control of the Transport budget, maintaining cost-efficiency and diligence. Developing clear and accurate KPIs relating to productivity and efficiency in order to manage and improve the performance of the transport workforce. Reviewing fleet requirements in order to optimise service and effective transport usage, including the use of third-party carriers/couriers, ensuring appropriate authorisation process and cost control. Effectively managing operational change and process improvements through adoption of best practice and maintaining consistency. Driving optimisation of Transport Operations, providing a high level service to all customers (internal and external). Monitoring and manage of logistical KPIs (e.g. minimising VOR levels, meeting targets for OTIFs and pre-emptive MOTs). Managing incidents and accidents, following company procedure, from initial reporting and investigation, through to root cause analysis, keeping EOA updated every step of the way. Creating a customer experience-oriented mindset within the logistics teams and ensure great service is delivered. Agreeing OTIF targets by location and ensure accurate data examination takes place and is discussed monthly with key branch stakeholders in sales and operations. Ensuring that the Transport team and drivers comply with all relevant regulations and site procedures. Supporting implementation of service improvements in conjunction with customers and associated key stakeholders. Ensuring Health and Safety provisions are prioritised and applied to all activity and are compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act, carrying out risk assessments as required. Your working pattern: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm 60-minute Break You: Experience of performance management and development. Basic knowledge of risk assessment/H&S principles. Transport Manager CPC Class 2 HGV licence (desirable) NEBOSH, IOSH or other safety management qualification (desirable) Competent in technology, systems and databases (desirable). Experience Supply Chain systems (e.g. Descartes) (desirable). Good leadership and organisation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable lifting, moving and carrying items up to approx. 25kg Able to delegate workload (desirable) Reach/Counterbalance FLT Licence (desirable) Please ensure you are happy with the commute before applying.
