Great opportunity to work as a Tooling Technician for our client BMW - Hams Hall, who produces the latest generation of BMW twin power turbo petrol engines. Staffline is recruiting for Tooling Technicians in Coleshill. Working full time rotational days, afternoons and nights: -6am to 1:30pm -1:30pm to 9:30pm -8:30pm to 6am -2pm to 11pm / Fridays The rate of pay is £13.86 per hour. Your Time at Work As a Tooling Technician you will need to be proficient in all areas of the cutting tool setting and refurbishment process, and to provide quality tools to the machining lines in a timely and cost efficient manner. Technical - Measure tools using precision measuring equipment - Refurbish tools by setting and operating several machines including toolroom CNC grinding machines - Interact with SAP and TDI systems to ensure data is accurate and transferred to production - React to non-conformities during the shift to avoid production losses - Train apprentices and new associates in the area Logistics - Control and manage tools through SAP crib report and tooling module - Deliver tools to the lines in a timely manner Quality - Perform accurate setting of tools to ensure right first time at point of use - Support production lines when issues arise - Provide assistance when un-planned tool changes / breakages happen - Update documentation and tooling systems as defined by the process VPS - Perform 5S and TPM in the area - Communicate issues to the Process Supporter for problem resolution or further communication Tool stores - Raise purchase orders in SAP - Compile and maintain documents for tooling movements - Ensure cycle management and reservation process are applied - Conduct PI counts to ensure stock accuracy Our Perfect Worker Our perfect Tooling Technician will be: - Be the first point of contact with the production lines in the event of a tooling problem, liaise with the process leaders and line managers to ensure quality and production are maintained - Communicate with tooling vendors and tooling engineers on site to enhance and improve tool setting and delivery processes - Communicate to the tooling teams daily through Gemba and shift meetings. Experience in a similar role required. Ideally a time served craft apprenticeship in machining or engineering or equivalent NVQ level 3.
