This full-time Tool Maker role is based in Telford and offers an attractive salary and enhancements. Shift: 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm rotating – 37.5 Hours/ week As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for the maintenance of tooling and supporting the Toolroom Supervisor in the smooth running of the facility. You will have a wide and varied role ranging from attending unplanned breakdowns on tooling equipment to implementing daily preventative maintenance. If you were already in this role, here are some of the areas you would have been working in this week: Preparing and maintaining existing tooling according to requirements Identifying day-to-day tooling issues and implementing corrective action where required Cleaning all production tooling to meet on-time delivery and schedule adherence goals Ensuring all tooling is safe and production-ready when returned for production use, following the correct preventative maintenance process Supporting coordination of engineering changes and supporting maintenance of spare parts. To succeed in this flexible role, you should have a relevant time-served apprenticeship together with excellent hand tool skills and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Other essential requirements include: Experience working with tool room equipment including overhead cranes Experience in inspection equipment Previous repair of press tools, jig and fixtures or mould tools Experience using milling machines, lathe, surface grinder, bench grinder, etc Ability to follow the preventative maintenance programme Industry experience including the following is all being considered - press / stamping / injection moulding / Automotive / packaging / domestic tool room / contract tool room This role will suit machinists with tool room experience, tooling or tool room supervisor experience with a background in tool and die repair and maintenance or CNC machining and  jig, fixture and tool making.
