Test Engineer BRIEF OVERVIEW - Role: Test Engineer - Location: Norfolk - Role type: Contract - Outside IR35 - Salary: £400/day (contract) - Working type: On-site working Recruit 12 has an exciting opportunity for a couple of Test Engineers to work with a business which has been charging forward and won big, long-term projects, so they are looking to expand in various departments. You'll be an important member of the test and simulation team and work on delivering test system requirements across various market sectors related to green energy. You'll be focusing on testing and verification of electric motor components, including test rigs and fixture design changes, code verification and similar tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES - Ownership/definition of dyno test facilities - Manage tests, tear down, V&V and benchmarking - Commission test jigs and fixtures to complete test plans - Identify issues to upper management concisely and timely - Maintain a safe, clean and orderly environment - Design test system architecture in accordance with V&V tasks - Implement LabView code to perform V&V tests - Produce technical reports to evaluate and compare product performance - Determine the validity in the data and that tests are true and correct - Perform root cause analysis on test failures, fixtures and equipment - Provide advice and recommendations - Support mechanical, electronics, firmware and integration teams in V&V activities REQUIRED SKILLS - Worked in an engineering development environment - Experience writing technical reports according to V&V procedures - Understanding of basic electronics principals - Knowledge of signal measurement best practices - Data acquisition (sensor/transducer, signal conditioning, signal processing, etc) - Good understanding of Visual programming, LabView, etc - Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink DESIRABLE (NOT ESSENTIAL) - Experience with automotive, aerospace or similar industries - Experience with electro-mechanical machines - Familiar with PXI Data Acquisition chassis
