Job Title: Technical Author Location: Filton Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Technical Author to join our Customer Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating and authoring the Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) and operational data and documentation to meet international specifications. This role involves initial publications at aircraft launch and continuous updates to reflect product improvements. Key Responsibilities: Analyze the content of repair and production drawings, technical notes, and other source data. Review vendor data and in-service reports to determine impact on customer needs. Address customer queries and provide relevant data to support maintenance and operational requirements. Ensure all communications align with Airbus policies, processes, and procedures. Collaborate with internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve day-to-day and complex issues. Refer complex or airworthiness issues to appropriate departments. Plan tasks to meet customer needs and provide feedback on customer requirements. Represent the department in decision-making meetings trans-nationally. Manage networks and subcontractors to deliver tasks on time, within budget, and to the required quality. Support key strategic projects and initiatives.Required Skills and Experience: Previous experience in authoring, verification, and validation of Technical Data Manuals, specifically IPC. Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance, repair, and production processes and procedures. Practical experience in engineering or aircraft maintenance is advantageous. Project management capability with a proactive attitude. Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Proficient in computer applications.Desirable Skills: Experience with the Tech Request tool is desirable
