System Safety Engineer - Aviation Cheltenham - Hybrid Working £50,000 - £65,000 basic + benefits Our client is looking to take on an experienced System Safety Engineer who will play a large part in their UK Safety Team and help bring in Avionics & Power Products into the market. What You'll Do: - Lead and perform system safety assessments across diverse projects (Hardware Safety Testing & Safety Testing on Software's running on Hardware components) - Conduct detailed safety analyses (e.g., Fault Tree Analysis, Common Mode Analysis) - Develop safety requirements to drive design improvements - Mentor and guide future talent in System Safety Engineering - Engage with senior stakeholders and promote a strong safety culture What You'll Need: - Experience in aviation safety engineering with strong technical expertise - Knowledge of civil certification requirements (e.g., 14CFR-25, CS-25) - Familiarity with ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, and DEF STAN 00-56 - Strong leadership and communication skills Nice-to-Haves: - Knowledge of ARP 4754, DO-178B/C, and DO-254 - Experience with reliability analysis, FMEA, and system compliance processes This position will have further career development opportunities laid out for those who are successful
