We have been assigned by a privately owned global manufacturer, who supply parts to a number of different sectors. They are looking to recruit a Supply Chain Manager who will manage a team in stores, planning, procurement, and logistics. The purpose of the role is to lead the local team working closely with the Operations Director. Fantastic opportunity for progression as it is likely the candidate will step up into a global role. Duties will include: * Lead the purchasing team to develop existing suppliers and identify new suppliers in low-cost/ best countries. * Deliver accurate forecasts, capacity models and in collaboration with the manufacturing team ensure compliance to all planning systems. * Implement best practice SIOP processes. * Ensure performance of suppliers, logistics partners and freight etc and make improvements and cost savings where possible. * Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the materials planning and logistics strategy. * Ensure on time, high quality delivery to all customers. * Oversee and manage inventory integrity and review ways to reduce inventory levels. * Ensure the HSE policy standards are achieved. * Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles. Profile of candidate * Strong background in managing both purchasing and logistics. * Leadership experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is essential. * Understands planning, procurement/materials control, logistics techniques and systems. * Ability to mentor and influence peers. * Must have strategic purchasing experience including identifying suppliers in low-cost countries. * Excellent analytical and numerical capability. * Commercial awareness
