A supplier of precision parts to various safety-critical industries including aerospace, defence and automotive is looking to recruit a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team near Burnley on a permanent full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the Supply Chain and Quality team and play a major part in the development and improvement of supplier quality for existing and future projects. The position will offer a salary in the region of £37,000 - £45,000 p/a with additional benefits. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager and working closely with the Supply Chain and Plant Quality teams, your key responsibility will be to work with suppliers to ensure the quality and reliability of components and materials sourced. You’ll develop and implement best practices that emphasise defect prevention and reduction in waste, as well as evaluating and monitoring supplier performance, managing supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement initiatives. To be considered for this position you’ll need to demonstrate a strong background in Quality Engineering with previous experience in a supplier-facing role, ideally with internal or supplier auditing knowledge and training. The Quality Manager is also keen to hear from engineers with experience relating to: • Complaint management, using 8D to establish root cause and implement robust countermeasures and corrective action plans • Supplier Development and Improvement activities • Assessing potential suppliers (including capabilities, quality systems, and manufacturing processes) for short and long-term partnerships • Conducting audits and assessments of supplier facilities to evaluate compliance with quality standards (ISO9001, AS9100, IATF etc.) • Monitoring supplier performance against agreed metrics, such as on-time delivery and quality • Participate in the development and review of quality requirements for purchased parts • Investigate and resolve quality issues related to supplied components, collaborating with suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective actions • Support NPI with PPAP approvals This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Engineer to advance their career with an established company that has an impressive reputation in their field.
