Teamjobs is currently recruiting for an Structural Simulation Engineer in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Structural Simulation Engineer role in Peterborough to join multi-disciplinary Computer Aided Engineering team, responsible for supporting the design and mechanical development of internal combustion engines and other power systems for our client. Hours: 8.30am - 4.45pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4.15pm Friday. (Minimum 3 days on site) Salary: Up to £27.10 per hour (Dependant on experience) Main Job Responsibilities and Duties include: Identification, analysis, and resolution of engineering problems using engineering fundamentals. Structural simulation of complex systems; including static, dynamic, thermal and fatigue analysis. Execution of tasks following established internal procedures, while being competent and confident to deviate from such procedures where appropriate. Clear verbal and written communication of results to internal and external customers. Development and evolution of complex simulation processes to improve effectiveness and support future needs, working closely with partners throughout our client.Required Qualifications: Accredited bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering subject, plus academic or industrial experience in structural simulation In-depth understanding of the fundamentals of structural simulation using finite element analysis Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to perform complex assignments Ability to communicate technical information effectively and to build effective relationships with team members and partners throughout our client. Desired Experience: Experience of internal combustion engines, rotating machinery or other machinery In-depth experience of simulating complex structural systems Exposure to some, or all, of the following analysis tools would be useful; Finite element pre and post processors, such as NX or Hypermesh Finite element analysis solvers, such as Abaqus or Ansys Fatigue analysis tools, such as nCode or FEMFAT Key Technical Skills: Sound engineering fundamentals Finite-element modelling If you're interested, please apply with your CV.
