Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Stress Engineer - A/C Structures to add to their talented, hardworking team on a 6 month contract. The Role As a Stress Engineer - A/C Structures, you will be responsible for: Sizing and stress analysis of airframe structures by means of hand calculations, numerical simulations (FEM) and optimization techniques Create, manage and validate detailed FE models of complete propulsion structures and systems, with responsibility for the full workflow of numerical modelling, solving and post-processing Creation of clear and concise technical reports and documentation In addition, you will also be reviewing and checking of internal and supplier analysis data. You To succeed within the role of a Stress Engineer - A/C Structures, you will have the following skills: Engineering degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field Minimum 8 years of experience in Structural analysis, with application to aircraft primary structures Excellent knowledge of stress, fatigue & damage tolerance analysis methods following established standards for CFRP and metallic structures Extensive working experience with the commercial implicit FE code OptiStruct, and corresponding pre- and post-processing tools (HyperMesh and HyperView) In addition, you should also have confidence in the application of optimization techniques and in-depth understanding of the loading scenarios and mechanical behaviour of aircraft structures.
