Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Specialist Assembly Planner, on a rolling 12-month contract, to join a multinational, automotive manufacturer based in Hams Hall. The purpose of the role is to maintain & improve engine manufacturing processes, ensuring the appropriate business targets are achieved. As a key part of assembly process planning for combustion engines you will work directly in the plant, liaising with the product development departments, equipment suppliers and the operations department, to integrate new products in the production line. Location: Hams Hall Pay rate: £21.88ph Standard working hours: Monday - Friday 37.5hrs per week Duties & Responsibilities: · To manage a multi-functional project team for the successful achievement of targets within quality, time, and budget constraints · Line balancing to modify or integrate process changes into the engine assembly lines. · To integrate new engines into new or existing assembly facilities · To work with external suppliers to achieve integrations within non-production periods. · Project Management to ensure manufacturing processes and facilities are implemented within specified timeframes and deliver planned targets. · Application of method study techniques to ensure the optimum assembly process. · Development of time standards using standard data systems · To create and update quality standard documentation. Candidate Specification Manufacturing Knowledge & Experience within Assembly & Test processes Qualified to HNC &/or Degree level in engineering (NVQ Level 4 or equivalent). Assembly process planning knowledge. Planning and operation system knowledge Experience of working with/within a production team/environment. Experience in having delivered a change/project in a production process. Should also have knowledge, understanding and experience of the following: Assembly, tightening and vision system knowledge for engine assembly. Project management Line Balancing (MTM Time studies) Commissioning / Capability Studies FMEA Analysis SAP Systems VPS/ Lean manufacturing principles Process sheets/ work instruction Quality Management tools Full UK driving licenceThere will also be an occasional requirement to travel to other plants within the business.
