JOB DESCRIPTION: Field Service Engineer, Field Service Technician - Plant Machinery and Equipment Reporting to the Service Manager you'll be responsible for servicing and maintaining not only our own hire fleet of piling rigs and drilling rigs but also those of our customers who are spread around the UK and Ireland. Our service team look after all aspects of machine function: engines; hydraulic systems; electrical systems, and control systems. Work is carried out in our yard in Northampton, but we also get to visit customer’s own premises and their job sites around the UK (primarily) and Ireland (occasionally). All equipment is designed and manufactured by our parent company in Germany, so our team have the benefit of full factory support and product training. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Field Service Engineer, Field Service Technician - Plant Machinery and Equipment · Carry out preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on our own manufactured machinery and equipment (yard based and site work). · Visit customers job sites and their plant yards around the country to provide full-service support as and when required. · Assist with the commissioning of new or hired machinery and equipment. · Training customers, machine operators and service personnel when/as required. · Loading / unloading of plant and equipment as required in our yard or on site. · Occasional out-of-hours support. · Control of parts and spares in service vehicle. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Field Service Engineer, Field Service Technician - Plant Machinery and Equipment You will either have an appropriate engineering qualification or be a time served experienced fitter. You will be multi skilled electrically and mechanically and must have experience and exposure to: · Electrical systems and controls systems. · Diesel engines. · Hydraulic systems. · Electro-hydraulic systems. · Fabrication / repair. This is a key role within our company as you will be a customer facing representative of our business. You should possess a positive attitude and a flexible approach to your work, comfortable working on your own or as part of a team. You will need to be reliable, organised, methodical and demonstrate good communication skills. Specific product training will be provided including factory training in Germany.
