Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer                          Location: North London Pay Range/details: Negotiable Dependant on Experience Contract Type: Permanent Our defence client currently has a vacancy for a Senior Systems Engineer within their Radar and Naval Systems team to drive the development and delivery of cutting-edge radar technology projects. From system concept to final acceptance, you'll play a pivotal role in both internal company and customer funded initiatives. From the initial System Concept to the final Delivery and Acceptance phase, you will be deeply involved in Bid Support, System Design, Integration, Verification, and Customer Acceptance. You must be able to obtain security clearance to be eligible for this role. Key Responsibilities – Senior Systems Engineer Oversee the entire Systems Engineering lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution. Lead the specification, development, integration, verification, and acceptance of systems for internal and external stakeholders. Foster collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders to ensure project success. Play an active role in defining and implementing new products, showcasing our commitment to innovation. Proactively engage with stakeholders throughout the lifecycle, maintaining effective communication channels. Prepare comprehensive technical documentation tailored to various audiences. Be prepared for regular travel within the UK and overseas, responding to project needs. Qualifications & Requirements – Senior Systems Engineer Demonstrable experience in systems design, integration, and testing. Profound understanding of Systems and Product lifecycles, from conception to delivery. Proficiency in a variety of Engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical, Electrical). Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication at all organizational levels. Versatility to apply skills across different projects and products. Strong written English skills for precise technical documentation. Willingness to travel as required. Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a related science discipline. Familiarity with Radar Systems is advantageous. Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., RS485, RS232, TCP-IP, Canbus) would be beneficial, but not essential. Background in product development for Naval Platforms or Navigation equipment is a plus.
